I am trying to paste a logo created in Illustrator into Photoshop as a pixel-based image. I know how to do it by copy and pasting and have my preferences set correctly but when I hit paste in Photoshop I get a bounding box as though the logo is there but there is nothing in it. I can paste outlines but not pixels. Nothing is showing in the bounding box.

Are you getting the dialog offering you to choose "paste as pixels"?

Yes — everything appears to work the way it should. I get the option to paste as pixels or paths. The paths works. If I choose pixels I get the bounding box where the graphic would be with the option to resize, etc. But the box is empty.
