Photoshop CS font order in the font drop down list

I have noticed that when I add new fonts to my computer, that Photoshop doesn't alphabetize them anymore with the existing fonts. The new fonts are added to the bottom of the drop down list (which is annoying). Does anyone know what the deal is on this?

ps sorts by internal font name which is embedded in the font file itself, and may be different than the actual name of the font. to be sure it's sorting correctly, search for and delete all occourances of adobefnt*.lst. they'll be recreated next time they're needed and it'll force ps to rescan the list.

And most likely your new fonts have the wrong script code (saying that they're Cyrillic instead of Roman). Photoshop also sorts on the script (language) of the fonts.

I deleted all occurrances of adobefnt (there were about 6 of them). I opened PS back up and some of the new fonts were still on the bottom. I will look further into their actual file name versus their embedded name. I just thought there was a quick fix on this...

Thanks for the info...
