How do you save a pat. file?

I want to create patterns and save them for future use. How do I save them as pat. files? I do not see that option in PS7 under the save as menu. Thanks for any help.

click on the pattern stamp tool, go to the pattern stamp tools option bar and click on the patterns to open the patterns palette. Click on the option key (round circle with a triangle–scroll down to save patterns. Rename and save patterns to the presets folder and also save them to another location or to CD as the patterns folder is deleted and reset to default patterns when you have to delete preferences.
