Hi there,

Several of my students have been having problems with (finished) coursework, which has become corrupt. This can occur either the first time they save a document or once a large amount of work has been completed. It appears totally random and has happened accross 2 versions of Photoshop (Both 6.0 and 7.0)

Current version used Photoshop 7.0
System is a P4 2.8GHz, 256Mb memory saving to a networked area with a large amount of space remaining.

The preview icon shows up when you look at the file under explorer but as soon as you try and load them the error occurs.

Any ideas ?

Nick

Are your students saving to a networked central hard drive?

If so, they should always work on a file copied to their local drive; when work is finished, the file should be saved on the local machine and moved/copied to the networked drive.

Working from and saving over a network is not recommended nor endorsed by Adobe, nor by many companies, institutions and individuals.
