Turn Selection Edges off on the last document you have open. Close photoshop, then restart. It should be off by default (that is, if it follows the behavior of other "show" items).

Oh, my bad on previous post

Mac..that’s it. It was the Show Bounding Box that was toggled on. I was not looking there on the tool bar, I kept looking in the View/Extras menu.

So it’s <poof> gone! Thanks!!!!
