Howdy,

I have a strange problem that I have never had happen before . I had the slides of my paintings scanned and color corrected. The scans were in a .tif format, RGB & 16 bits/Channel. I saved copies of the images as .psd files and 8bits/Channel (I did the latter because Photoshop asked me to). The problem is when I bring the images into Image Ready or just even try the "Save to Web" feature in PS, the colors of my paintings desaturate to a faded version of their original glory. What is going on?

I use Mac OS X.3.3 and Photoshop CS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

This is a common problem a search of this forum will reveal a lot of threads discussing it.

What you are seeing is the effect of viewing the image in a colour managed application (Photoshop) and in a non-colour managed one (web-browser, and the Photoshop Save for Web preview screen which simulates them)

Converting your file to sRGB profile will reduce the colour shift.
