recently emigrated to mac (emac 800 256 ram) osx 10.2 elements runs in classic mode, but i cannot import scans from my epson scanner using twain facility?
the plug in appears in import export file but it don,t appear in menu under import. can scan images using epson twain and saving in other apps then open images in elements but this seems a time consuming way of doing things. would appreciate any help

No, Jim, that’s right. You cannot access OS X facilities like imagecapture directly from classic, which means you are running os 9 (and a kind of limited version of 9.) Your best bet would be to upgrade to PE 2, which you can usually find for less than $50 (sometimes much less) with the rebate you qualify for since you have PE 1. PE 2 runs natively in X and will give you full access to all OS X features.

Yes and no. Epson twain drivers for the 2450 will not work with 10.2.4 and above. For that, I use Siverfast Ai and firewire which works just fine. I understand VueScan is the same – works fine with firewire.

Elements 2 itself works beautifully – it’s just the drivers that don’t. Not sure if this problem will be addressed in 10.3 or not.
