Photoshop 7 caused thumbnails to load slow HELP

After I loaded Photoshop 7, when I try to view my thumbnails in Explorer or any other program it takes forever for the thumbnails to display. And sometimes they won’t display at all. I have to CtlAltDlt to get out of it. I uninstalled Photoshop 7 and everything is fine now. Is there a setting or pref I don’t have set right? I’m running XP Media Edition.

Try to defrag the HD.
Also, watch where your scratch file is in edit-preferences. Photoshop and Windows scratch file does not like to be on the same partition.
