PS quits error 1010

I have reinstalled Photoshop 7 three times and each time it says it has been installed correctly.

However, when I try to open it, eems to go through the right motions and then a dialog box pops up saying "Photoshop has unexpectedly quit because of error 1010. Quit all applications, etc., etc., etc,"

Can any one tell me what error 1010 means and how I can correct it?

Does that mean you restarted your computer, repaired permissions or tossed your preference files? You may want to try all three.

That error usually means that part of the software is corrupted or the system is unable to find it on the hard drive. If repair permissions doesn't work, I would suggest re-installing PS. Don't forget to toss your preference files when/if you do.
