Photoshop CS Does Not Load When Changing Window's Language For Non-Unicode Programs

Hi, I changed the language for non-unicode programs from English to Korean. I did this by:

Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Advanced > and under "Language for non-Unicode programs" I changed it from English to Korean.

Now everytime I start up Photoshop, the splash will not show and Photoshop would immediately say:

Adobe Photoshop CS has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. (etc...)
Send Error Report | Don't Send

If I change the settings back to English it would work. What can I do to fix this? Thanks!!

Nisae,

I don't think this is going to help, but you can try right-clicking on Photoshop.exe | Properties | Compatibility tab: check the box for "Turn off advanced text services for this program."

Even if that works, you'll lose the ability to use Windows IMEs to enter Asian text in Photoshop.

In my experience, non-U.S.-English settings for the "language for non-unicode programs" option causes a number of problems with various applications.

If I change the settings back to English it would work. What can I do to fix this?

As the old joke goes...

Patient: "Doc, it hurts when I do this."

Doctor: "Stop doing that."
