How to make a elliptical (or various other shapes) border insted of retangular border for an image? When I use elliptical marquee tool and cut a part of image and put it in a new file I get rectangular border. how to remove this rectangular border?

Krish,

Perhaps I don’t fully understand, but here’s a guess… What you’re seeing around your elleptical is the object’s borders. All objects in Elements have a square / rectangular border.

If your goal is to obtain like a vignette effect, you may put the selection (eleptical) on a new transparent background file. Although the object selection border will appear rectangular, only the elipse will get printed.

Which file format are you using to create the elliptical image ? Jpeg format does not support transparency of the outer edge and will in turn give you a white square background. Keep your elliptical or other shape image in PSD format ( or tiff )when saving to file and your problems will be solved.
