Open jpeg files in Photoshop 7

For some reason my copy of Photoshop 7 has stopped opening jpeg files

when I try to access by double clicking the file. Photoshop opens but the file doesn’t. I have no problems with TIFF or PSD files and jpeg files opened using the browser.

Op. System Windows XP.

Can anyone help please?
