the security settings are by default pretty strict
I remember having to make some exceptions for certain programs
So make sure the firewall is not blocking IM.
I don’t see it my exceptions list but it’s worth a check if the firewall is blocking it usually pops up and tell you but..
are you logged in as admin??
some posters seem to have problems opening PS if they were not
can’t really think why PS would work and not IM
maybe three finger start up to default the preferences?? no one knows why but it fixes so many funky errors
