I’m using Image Ready to make an Image Map of an old group photo.

I use the Image Map Polygon tool to outline the individuals, but the tool seems to have a mind of it’s own.

I’m having a very hard time following the outlines closely, as the tool ‘snaps’ to preset directions, vertical, horizontal, angled.

Also, it occasionally seems to put in a point even when I haven’t clicked.

Finally, is there some way to ‘undo’ the last <click>?

Any suggestions / tips / URLs much appreciated.

TIA

Al,

To ‘undo’ the last click(s), use the backspace key.

Not sure about your other problems.

I think you are misusing the tool, if you are trying to trace the shape exactly. You will wind up with a huge map, which is going to slow the loading of your page.

Think about the user … will he click on Uncle Joe’s ear, or on the middle of the face. Probably the latter, so if the ear is not in the map, it is not a disaster.

I would recommend that a map of a person in a photo, knees up, should only use 10 or 12 points, and could be done with as few as four.
