Hard drivers are dirt cheap. You wouldn't like the performance of the scratch disk, anyway.
Drop the network idea and buy a drive.

The networed drive is also a Samba share but I know it already works since i've copied data back & forth from it. Any help is appreciated!

Hello Harold,

Yeah I did do through put tests and it will be really slow to use it as a scratch disk. The system is old and don't feel like putting any money in it. I don't mind the slowness and since I can't figure out why it won't let me use a mapped network drive, that has me more intrigued.... If you can post any hints as to how to do this I'd greatly appreciate it. -Zenko
