Error: Not Enough Space on Disk

I keep getting an error message when I use the liquify filter. The message states; "Error: The operation could not be completed successfully. There is not enough space on the disk."

I've got 2 gigabytes of ram installed and two 200 gigabyte hard drives. I don't know how I could be out of space on my disk.

First thing to try is changing the order of the scratch volumes....

Changing the order of the scratch volumes didn't work.

Is there any way to change the temporary path in Photoshop 8? The program seems to be accessing the temporary file when it gives the "not enough space" error. I can use the liquify filter for about 10 seconds and then I get the error.

The photo I'm working on is very large (about 110 megs when uncompressed). But I should still have plenty of space! I just spent a lot of money upgrading my system (2 gigs of ram, 400 gigs of hard drive space) so I wouldn't run out of space, but Photoshop doesn't seem to be able to access the space that I have.

The temp file seems to be maxing out at 4 gigabytes when I use the liquify filter. Is there any way to get it to go larger? I've got a lot more space but CS doesn't seem to be able to use it.

I think I've found a way to work around this problem.

Before using the Liquify filter, I first use the Retangular Marquee Tool to select only a part of the photo. Then the Liquify filter only works on the part of the photo I selected instead of the entire picture. This seems to get rid of the "not enough space" error and still lets me work on enough of the photo to make it worth my while.

If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.

You mention the temp file seems to be maxing out at 4gigs. Are your disk drives NTFS?
