new to ps. just drew a square!

wheres the option on photoshop to change the width of a border on my shape?

How did you make the square? Which tool? There are lots of ways to draw a square in Photoshop.

If it’s the Shape tool that border may be a vector and actually have no width at all. Try using the Layer Style Stroke.
