Using Photoshop 7 I’d like to use a mono-colored object and have it throw a colored gradient dropshadow. Have tried to knockout the drop shadow through to a gradient layer without success. Any suggestions?

Could you just make a copy of the original object and fill it with a gradient … blur a bit and turn down the opacity .. then shape it in the slant/direction you want it to go?

Just a thought …
