I need a new plug-in: ADM. Not working or don't have it.

Hi. First of all, thanks for the help. Alright, I am unable to use Adobe ImageReady because when I try to open up the program, I get an error that says, "Could not fully start the application because the ADM plug-in was not found in the 'Required' folder or is not functioning properly." So, apparently I need to reinstatll the ADM plugin. I've tried re-installing the application but get the same error. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is it possible to get a download somewhere? By the way, when I open up the "Required folder," I can find no ADM plug-in.

The ADM "plug-in" is part of the default install.

It sounds like you've moved some required files, or had some disk damage.

You probably need to reinstall.

I have reinstatlled, however I get the same error, so I was wondering if someone could post a link to it... I don't know.

You didn't say what version Photoshop, or what version of Windows, but no hits for ADM or ADMplugin.apl or similar in Adobe KB, but Googled from another site:
=================
"In order for Photoshop to run any plugins, it must have a file called ADMPlugins.APL installed. This is a standard Photoshop file and for some reason Photoshop will forget where it is. This file must be present on the hard disk in the following folders: (Note - many people install Photoshop under Program Files and then the Adobe folder.)

In PS5.5, 6.0, & 7.0 the file ADMplugin.APL must be in: Adobe/(Photoshop Folder Name)/Required.

In PS5.0 the file ADMplugin.APL must be in: Adobe/Photoshop50/Plugins.

If at this point the program still does not recognize the Plugins or does not find the ADMPlugin.APL file you will need to Re-Install Photoshop." ========================

In my PS 7, ADMPlugins.APL is indeed in:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Required

Do you see the file in YOUR folder list in Required?

If so, or if not, is still a mystery as to why it's either not being installed or if installed, is not seen.

Maybe an UNinstall first, and also make sure Adobe Photoshop directory structure is completely gone, including folder structure containing prefs, which is not deleted with uninstall:
http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/6712.htm

Also, delete all temp files, reboot. Try re-installation.

Just sort of guessing here, I think this is first time I've ever heard of this prob, and didn't even know that the ADM thing was part of PS until this thread.

I actually fixed this. I went to search my computer's hard drive and put in the keyword "plugin' and miraculously it appeared in some other folder. I copied it over into the required folder and it is up and running. My only problem now is that I get a diferent error that tells me that it is unable to find the ui font files. Files that are supposed to be in the required folder. So it appears as if all my required stuff has gone elsewhere. If someone could compile a list of what is supposed to be in there for photoshop v.6, that would be great.

Sounds to me like someone physically moved the PS file structure after installation, and UNinstall won't work?

But sure seems like a reinstall with default file locations would?

A reinstall would have put it where it belongs.
