Win XP Pro/Photoshop 5.5

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am working on a machine with Win XP Pro and Photoshop 5.5. I am not allowed administrative access to the programs on my machine. When I try to open anything larger than a few Kb, I get an error box that says "Document could not be opened because of a disk error".

I am trying to work with our IT department, but they do not get the time sensitivity of the projects that I am working on and no one will budge on giving me adminsitrative access to attempt to troubleshoot the problem myself.

Could it be that since I am not allowed administrative access that the program is not functioning properly?

Please help. I have projects due by Friday!

that's exactly why. you need at least power user access.
