Newbie using plugins

Some please help this newbie.

I read a little about PShop 'plug-ins' and would like to experiment with some. I found them listed under help, but I'll be danged if I can find where I can select a plug-in for a given graphic.

I assumed it would be a menu item, but I don't see. Where is it?

Thank you

Most plug-ins appear in the Filters drop-down. Once installed, they will do so automatically. Check the plug-ins, as some will appear as Actions, and need to be launched from the Actions Palette.

A good source is the Adobe Exchange at www.adobe.com.

Weeelll...I don't think I'd call an action a plugin. Filters and Automate, Export plugins and some others...As it says in Help.

In, and of itself, you are totally correct. However, many actions call actual plug-ins (Filters), and a newbie might well download Actions to use these. Of course they also need to have the Plug-in installed, as well. I suppose that I got too general and included Actions, when they are officially NOT plug-ins.
