19" 1440x1024 LCD monitor existance ?

Hi all, I currently use PS on two 19" 1280x1024 monitors. I always find myself needing 'just a bit more' space on the desktop so thought about getting a third monitor. I always seem to end up with windows 'overhanging' from the 1st monitor onto the second monitor, so a widescreen monitor would probably work a treat.

I would like to use this widescreen monitor for the 'centre' monitor and the current two 19" monitors on either side. However, logically, I thought that a widescreen 19" monitor would be 1440x1024 (to match the vertical res of the other two monitors, but just be slightly wider), but they all seem to be 1440x900. Surely this would be odd stuck in the middle of two 19" 1280x1024 monitors either side ?

Yes, if I was looking to buy a 1280x1024 monitor this is what I would search for. However, Googling for " 19" 1400x1024 " doesnt give any useful information unfortunately.

Googling for _19" 1280x1024_ gives 3 million hits. Looks like they should be available.

That's a really unusual resolution, and I doubt you'll find anything quite like that. A widescreen Dell display may give you a rought match. Check out their web site.

Actually, I am on a 19", LCD monitor with that resolution, and it works quite well. Ironically, yes, it's a Dell ;)

Not really, it's very practical. In fact, at any other resolution things look "off".

I think you must have widescreen eyes :)
