Why Does The Painting Cursor Change?

Could anybody tell me why the 'brush' cursor changes preferences while I'm working on a project, without ME changing them? It's very frustrating ... cause I like it set a certain way and it changes to another way on me by itself. Grrrrr!!

You are pressing the CAPS LOCK key, which toggles between cursor modes.

You are pressing the CAPS LOCK key, which toggles between cursor modes.
