Dear all,

Here’s the deal:

For a bibliography, I will use small inline graphics (shaped in the form of boxed numbers) to indicate references to numbered PDF files of the articles in question (enclosed on a CD).

So what I will need is a way to create 10,000 small images, name them from 1 to 10,000, and find a way to insert the same number in the images as is used in the filenames.

I guess you can use DOS to batch-create and rename the 10,000 image files, but how do you annotate them with the same number?

Any help appreciated.

Best regards,
Mats Broberg

name them from 1 to 10,000

not sure of your answer, but you’d want to name them 00001 to 10000 or they’d get out of order. 1, 100, 1000, 10000, 2, 200, 2000, etc…

Dave,

It doesn’t matter if they are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 or 00001, 00002, 00003, 00004. They will be retrieved from a folder when publishing the database so sort order etc does not matter.
