Support for Edrawings in Photoshop?

Hi,

I'm trying to select a graphics application for use by our department, but I need one which has support for Edrawings files (the file interchange format for SolidWorks)? The file extension is .edrw. Can anyone tell me if Photoshop supports this format? Basically, I need to be able to import .edrw files, edit them, and export as .jpg or .png for import into another application.

Thanks,
Mary

Safe to say, no, PS will not import them.
You'll need to EXPORT them, or SAVE AS, from the other program into a format that PS will read. Likely choices might be TIFF, EPS, PDF, AI ?

I've never heard of Solid Works. Note that if it does vector data, that will likely be lost on conversion.

It looks like some sort of proprietary format for viewing CAD artwork that the company is trying to push like PDF but for CAD drawings that can be viewd as 3D artwork that can be rotated. From the looks of it, it is intended as a final output for viewing in their viewer rather than a format to save files in for further editing in any program at all… I’m guessing she isn’t going to find the kind of support she wants for it in any 2D image editing program.

Thanks for doing the research...
I had forgotten about this, since OP never responded...
