clone stamp in Photoshop CS2

Cloning stamp in PS CS2 does not transfer what I have alt-klicked . I have no program running that might interfere with this (ie Atomia). The same operation on the same photo works perfectly with PS6.

This is an addition to the above:
I went to brush presets, and turned off shape dynamics as well as other dynamics. It still din't work.

Hi Riad,

just one other "shot in the dark". I had a keyboard that gave the same problem you describe if I used the alt key on the right side of my keyboard to set the clone point. Being left-handed, that is the natural alt key for me. Using the left alt key, the function worked correctly. The right hand alt key did in fact work in all other programmes, I might add.

If you have not already done so, try the alt key that you don't usually use.

A good suggestion -- always bear in mind the possibility of a hardware problem. Don't know how many times I've wasted days fiddling with the registry, only to find out I have a loose cable or a bad $12 NIT. Brian, have you tried prying up the offending key and cleaning underneath with a q-tip?

Make sure the layer you want to copy from is selected. Press F7, look at the layer palette, select the layer that you want the clone tool to pick up stuff from.

yeah are you trying to clone from the wrong, empty or an adjustment layer? check the button at top (use all layers?)
