Cloning stamp in PS CS2 does not transfer what I have alt-klicked . I have no program running that might interfere with this (ie Atomia). The same operation on the same photo works perfectly with PS6.

I went to brush presets, and turned off shape dynamics as well as other dynamics. It still din't work.

Check the mode of the clone brush and make sure it is set to "Normal". --

just one other "shot in the dark". I had a keyboard that gave the same problem you describe if I used the alt key on the right side

Make sure the layer you want to copy from is selected. Press F7, look at the layer palette, select the layer that you want the clone tool to pick up stuff from.
