National Association of Photoshop Professionals Memership Question

Hello All:

I'm looking into joining the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. I'd like feedback both good and bad on the value of such membership. The magazine looks good, as does the web site ( ie tutorials ). Is the above worth the $100 membership fee?

How about the extra $15 for the Layers Magazine?

Are the discounts on hardware/ software any good?

Thank you for any comments!

I am in Australia and so many of the discounts do not apply to me. The magazine IS good and the web site has many tips and tutorials that are worthwhile. There seems to be quite a number of discounts available on different produces, not all photography related. When I joined I received a Cd with 100 'Hot Photoshop Cs' tips. This was really interesting.

In a nutshell, I think the membership fee should be considered an investment rather than a cost. What you are really paying for is knowledge, and can you put a value on that?

Even though I cannot take advantage of the discounts I think the member ship fee is great value. Somewhere on their website they mention the percentage of members who continue after the first year. It is quite high which gives an indication of how the members perceive the value.

Cheers from Downunder
