Photoshop 7 - Colors are changing??

Hello. Im sitting here, fiddling with a design in Photoshop 7. The problem is, that the colors are changing, from when i see them in PS till when i look at them in other programs, or in the "Preview" box in "save for web". It's clear to se that PS are changing the colors. Example:

Thank you in Advance.

I figured it out. I had chosen a wrong monitor color output in: Edit-Color Settings .
There i just choose my own screen. It was on some strang rgb242343423, or something like that :) Sry.

Also, bear in mind that those colors will also look different on just about every monitor, and will print differently on every printer that the design ever goes to.

Yep, that's right. Read the chapter on color management in your manual.

Photoshop does color management. it looks at your exact model of computer monitor and your color profiles and then changes the color you see on your screen. It does this so that if you look at the same picture on three different monitors of different brands it will look the same on all of them.

Other programs like Web browsers do not do color management. If you look at the same picture on three different brands of monitor it will look different on all three.

You can disable color management in Photoshop if you want the picture to look the way it will look in other programs.

Thanks for the answers. I have read a little now and have changed the color settings to sRGB. Photoshop writes its the most commonly used way to show colors. I am designing for a computer program right now, so i want photoshop to show the "average" monitor, it seems sRGB fits that need?
