It might help if you got her drunk.

You are getting "joke" answers because what you are asking is beyond the type of question that can be answered in a forum response. It is like finding a hammer and asking someone "how do I build a house."

Play with the program for a while. Your first attempts will be amateurish … because that is what you will get as a beginner. Eventually you can start to build your skills. Use google a lot, and search for PS tutorials. I bet there are a million of them out there. When you have finished all of them, you will know how to do what you want (even if there is no tutorial specifically on what you are trying to do).

Good luck.

Nosferatu,

All kidding aside, it might help if you explained your question in a bit more detail. Using conventional artist’s paints, an artist can paint a nude and then apply clothing and that is a time-tested technique, which can also be used in Photoshop using Photoshop’s painting tools.

However, many of us are not very good at figure drawing, and need some help. Photoshop can be used in conjunction with a 3D program like Poser from Curious Labs <http://www.curiouslabs.com/> to do something much like what you describe.

There are tutorials on Modeling in Poser, Creating a UV Map and Using photos and painting in Photoshop <http://www.infinitee-designs.com/Portrait_Tutorial.htm> and Compositing Images using Poser and Photoshop < http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/PoserTuts/PoserPa ges/SuperimpositionStart.html>.

Poser has a lot of third party support from vendors like DAZ Productions <http://www.daz3d.com/>, Poser World <http://www.poserworld.com/>, and Hand Span Studios <http://www.handspanstudios.com/characters.html>. There are many other sources of support for Poser users.

There are other applications besides Photoshop and Poser that let you paint directly on 3D models (including beautiful female models), such as Body Paint 3D from Maxon < http://maxon.net/pages/products/bodypaint3d/bp3d_r2/bp3d_2_e .html>. I have done a little experimenting with Photoshop and the much less expensive TrU-V from Texture Tools <http://www.texturetools.com/TrUV.asp> to use Photoshop to paint on LightWave 3D models. There are more expensive solutions such as Right Hemisphere’s Deep Paint <http://www.curiouslabs.com/article/productlist/74/>.

Those links ought to keep you busy for a while.

Don’t discount taking drawing and painting classes (you know, using real pencils and paint). I’m not great, but studying anatomy and spending time drawing with real media has made me a much better artist (and I use that term loosely) than I would have been without having done so.

For clothing tutorials, there is one about how to paint clothes on your poser model: (warning! slight virtual nudity!) <http://arcana.daz3d.com/index.php?author=1&author_id=16>

Phosphor is spot on about "real life" drawing classes. Search also online for "burne hogarth" or "andrew loomis" for anatomy books

Also, have a look at Phil Williams’ Eyewoo.com site.

He has some great tutorials < http://www.mojoko.com/display.ezb.php?mnElm=27&which=1&a mp;direc=ezb.tutorials&listFi=ezb.tutorials&PHPSESSI D=26592c5f93ebdbf728a4fce9284e4947> on painterly techniques using Photoshop.

Pierre,

I was just looking at the Painting Clothes with Photoshop tutorial in the link you provided. It is a well-done tutorial that basically leaves me thinking "Oooooh…I hate people with talent!" Ha! I noticed the author had a skill level indicated of 1 for this tutorial. I think that would put me at about a -5, or more! My sister and niece are the ones in my family who have the more natural artistic talent.

Nosferatu, I gave you a link for painting clothes in Photoshop. I recommend that you search a poser forum to ask questions about poser… you’ll get answers from poser professionnals, which we are not here…

.. i believe the greatest asset to photoshop is that it can be used in a manner as if the person in front of the computer is holding a pencil or paintbrush in their hand, instead of a mouse—and that by using the program as you would use real tools, you can acheive a digital watercolor or pastel drawing which looks as real as a traditionally drawn image. that is the angle i would advise anyone new to the program to consider when wondering ‘how can i create something’. the paintbrush will react as a paintbrush, the smudge will react as your finger does on a peice of paper.

if you have a background in drawing, there are two ways to begin.. first, as i’ve mentioned, by just using the tools in the program as you would use a normal tool—do some sketching to get a figure, then place a layer over that sketch and draw some more, then continue to add layers until you get to your painting and coloring stage.

another way to do it would be to scan a sketch you have drawn by hand, then use photoshop’s tools to lay color over top of that. this is useful if you are adept at hand drawing but not on the computer.

you could, also, scan an image from a magazine and manipulate it with photoshop (the yearly issue of the SI swimsuit mag is nice for this =) ), to sharpen your skills.

enjoy, and good luck !

What you need to do, Nosferatu, is to search out tutorials and/or books and/or videos to teach you some basics first.

It’s apparent from your posts in this and the "Dragon" thread that you think this stuff shouldf be easy, and should come to you like falling off a log.

It’s NOT easy, and the only way you’re going to understand the difficult material is to get a good solid grounding on the basics.

And the only way to get a good solid grounding in the basics is to commit yourself with energy and time and learn them. There are no magic solutions to the things you want to do. There are ways to make thingsd easier, but until you understand how the tools work, those shortcuts will continue to be a mystery.

Nobody here is going to walk you through that process. You have to do a LOT…I mean A LOT of work on your own.
