I have been trying to make a action for days and have read all I can in the Photoshop help files but still can’t seem to get it right.

What I am trying to do is open a image then the action would do the following.

1. make 2 duplicates of the image
2. resize dulicate 1 to 400 pixels X 400 pixels
3. resize duplicate 2 to 125 pixels X 125 pixels

then I would end up with 3 images, original, dup 1 & dup 2

whenever I record a new action and go thru all the steps to get what I am wanting, for some reason when I run the action I just get one resize.

I know there are some of you who hate when people ask for things to be done for them, for those of you who feel that way please pretend you didn’t read this post.

For those who are willing to help I do appreciate it very much.

my email address is

Thanks in advance

There’s an easier way that will work:

1. Resize the image to 400 x 400 pixels
2. Save the image to a another folder
3. Resize the image to 125 x 125 pixels
4. Save the image to yet another folder

This way you end up with the three images you want: The original in it’s own folder, the 400 x 400 version in the 400 x 400 folder, and the 125 x 125 version in the 125 x 125 folder.

Let me clarify what I am asking for… A action so that I can use it on any image I want. I might have 100 images that I need to do this process to, if I had a action I could just open the original and then play the action and that image process would be done.

I know how to do what I want manually, I’m just trying to make a "action" to make it easier to work on many images..

Make the new action and record:
1. Click record
2. Click on the triangle at the top right corner to get the context menu. Click on insert menu item.
3. Click on Image/duplicate.
4. Click on Image/resize and set the size you want, click ok.
4. Click on the little triangle again and insert menu item.
5. Click on Image/duplicate.
6. Click on Image/resize, set size click ok.
7. Stop recording and play the action on the desired image. I am using PS 7.01 but it should work in any version.

Hope this helps. If you can’t get it to work send me your email address and I will send the one I just recorded.

Thanks Don,
But I did figure it out by doing it over and over until I found my mistake. "donster" wrote in message
