Problem with the file format module interface

I am getting error message when try to open TIF format file in to Adobe Photoshop 6. The error message shows "Could not open "filename.tif" because of a problem with the file format module interface"

Other programmes like Windows bitmap able to open the same file, and when re-save by using Windows Bitamp, its able to open in photoshop.

The origial source of the 'tif' file is Nikon Camera.

I need to solve this problem ASAP.

Please advise.

The TIFF written by your camera is being handled by a Nikon plugin. It sounds like that plugin has a problem.
