I just noticed last night that when I go to "Liquify", the picture opens, I pick a tool, say…bloat, and when I click…I get a square "piece" from someplace slightly off center & elsewhere on the original photo. (click on the eye…and I get the lower eye and cheek or completely off & from somewhere else)
If I hold the button down…then it bloats, etc. This happens with all the tools in the Liquify box.
And if I click and drag…I get a trail of boxes.
This happens after rebooting machine as well.
Any ideas…?
Thanks!

Probably a video acceleration issue. If you’re on Windows, go to your display properties in the control panel, click on the settings tab and then the "advnced" button.

In there you will see a slider for the level of video acceleration. Move it to the left and see if the problem goes away. If it does, download the latest driver from your board manufacturer, and the latest DirectX and AGP drivers from Microsoft, and see if you can run normally with the slider to the right, fully accelerated position.

I also have this same problem.I’m just about ready to un-install PS and re-install.
I also hope someone can answer what’s causing this problem before I take drastic measures.
Thanks,Jerry

And what if it doesn’t…?
I guess you mean my graphics card when you say board…? Downloaded new Nvidia Drivers a few days ago. Have had the new DirectX 9 for awhile now.
(not sure about he latest AGP driver…what it is…or where to get it.) Tried the slider thing…but still had the problem.
Reinstalled Photoshop…STILL have the problem.
What else could it be…and fix it?
Thanks again!

Ok…Ok…OK…
Here’s da deal Jerry…
THOUGHT I had everything updated…but didn’t.
Had OLD DirectX9 drivers I guess, and although I just downloaded new Nvidia drivers from their site not 4-5 days ago…went to Windows Update feature in Internet Explorer.
Or..go here…
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
I downloaded their Nvidia driver, and got new DirectX9*A* driver. Liquify…now works like a charm.
Thanks Mr. Mike!
