Print size is not the same as image size

I'm using Win XP and photoshop version 7.0. The image I am trying to print is 3.375 x 2.14 inches, but when I print it comes out about 3.5 x 2.25. What is happening during the print process that makes this happen and what can I do to fix it? thanks for your help

You are seeing that in Image/Image Size and not depending on the screen ruler to determine size, right?
