AWEXFiles downloads

Every few days, when I start Photoshop 7, I get an automatic download of a couple of files titled AWEXfiles.
Could someone explain why is Adobe downloading these files, and most of all, what are these files used for in Photoshop? Thanks.

Because you have your Adobe Online Manager to set to automatically check for updates.

As there will be no more updates for PS7x, you might just as well set it to "Check for updates-Never".

They are used by the Online Manager itself, not Photoshop

Is "downloader helper". PS is checking for updates. Turn off Check For Updates in Adobe Online Prefs.
