I am pasting square selections sections from many scanned images (.psd files) into another composite image. Sometimes the newly pasted layer is transparent when it is supposed to be 100% opaque.
The problem seems to only occur with very old scans which which were all originally ported over from a Mac system.
If I paste the selection into a new separate file, the layer comes up opaque, but pasted or dragged to the composite image it again turns ~ 50% transparent.
A selection dropped from another, more recent scan into the same grid location will be opaque.
I’ve checked the layer properties and cannot find anything amiss. Is there some way I have turned on a secret layer masking? I am puzzled.
Not sure if this error is repeatable in PS 7.0 (I am using Windows CS), but I’ll try it.
Thanks
