Photoshop's Default Tool/Brush/Cursor Color

I'm doing B&W retouching in PS CS.

The default tool/cursor color is gray. Combine that color with a small tool/brush size & I can't see the damn thing at times (old bloody eyes don't help either).

I've searched high and low for a setting to change that gray color to one that stands out -- say hot pink -- can't find it though.

Changing from "Brush Size" to "Standard" is not an option -- I constantly need to see the size of the brush

Can anyone point me in the correct direction.

"'ve searched high and low for a setting to change that gray color to one that stands out -- say hot pink -- can't find it though."

That's because you can't change it.

It's not a fixed color - it's a blend mode applied so that the cursor remains visible over most colors. Look at previous discussions for more details.

"so that the cursor remains visible over most colors" Chris is mid tone gray one of the colors?

"Look at previous discussions for more details." Could you point me in the correct direction?

I said most - exactly 128 is the color over which the XOR cursor disappears.

Search for the word cursor and gray, you'll find them.
