Pasting paths from Illustrator, it's not working!

Hi,

Before upgrading to Adobe Creative Suite I used to copy paths (shapes) on Illustrator and paste them as paths to Photoshop. Unfortunately this isn't working the same way in CS, because each time I try to paste a copied shape from Illustrator CS to Photoshop CS the latter just does a paste to a layer (rasterizing the shape).

How can I do what I want to do? Can anyone help me?

Best regards,

Norberto,

When you Paste you should get a dialog box appearing with radio buttons for As Path, As Pixels and As Shape Layer.

Are you not seeing that Dialog box?

Go into your Illustrator preferences and set the clipboard export to "AICS".

You are presently exporting your Illustrator file as PDF.

LenHewitt,

When I do Paste all that appears is the pasted object surrounded by a border and on the toolbar below the menus I see the options to rescale the border, but no clue about that Dialog box.

Maybe there's some option (on either Photoshop or Illustrator) that makes Photoshop respond with that dialog box when pasting Illustrator art?

"AICS".

Should be AICB.

That one feature has me using Illustrator more and more. Makes copy and paste from Illustrator to InDesign a piece of cake.
