Does anyone know what font is used in the sgi logo? If it is even a font?
And does anyone know where I can download it?
Any help is much appreciated.

You might try posting this question in the typography forum, those guys are experts with the fonts.
In the meantime, take a look at these fonts. I don't know if they're exactly what the SGI font is, but they have a similar look.
