Thanks for the response Hunt.
Yes, I even delete the PS preferences - and after reinstalling Photoshop...it did the same thing...
It starts to load, then completely closes out.
No code / reason is given as to why.
Its just frustrating. I have no idea what to do
I havent seen anything related to it in the search engines for troubleshooting.

OK, here's what to look for first - a corrupt font. I assume that the "hang" comes while the PS splash screen is still up. If so, that will help, if not, then you may have even more investigative work ahead. In the splash screen, there is one line that changes, all the rest, the credits, etc. stay the same. The moving/changing line shows what is being loaded in PS. It can go by quickly, so you have to watch closely, and maybe several times. Note what is being loaded, just as the hang happens. Let's hope that it is loading fonts. PS is very critical of corrupt fonts. Many programs will let them pass and not whimper, until you try to use one, but not PS. If that one line says "... loading fonts... " then you know you are on the right track. Someone here had a great idea about how to find the offending font, but I cannot recall exactly what it was - maybe Google.Groups Search can give you that info. Anyway, you may have to copy ALL of your fonts (they will be in several locations on a Win machine - OS, PSFonts folder, TTFonts folder, Adobe Fonts folder, really all over. Copy them to another folder for safe keeping. One method would be to remove them all, except for the mandatory machine/OS fonts, and start re- installing them, firing up PS, as you go. If/when it hangs, then one in THAT batch is corrupt. Alrights guys and girls, maybe you have a surefire workaround, that will save Art even more time. NOW is when you should chime in, as re-installing tons of fonts can take days.
If it is a Plug-in (older 3rd party ones for PS < whatever you have now, CS?) can also cause a hang. Try removing them. The included Plug-ins should be OK, especially if you did a re-install.
Beyond those two thoughts, not much else occurs to me, but watching that one line might give you a clue. Remember, it goes by quickly, so you can't look away, or answer the phone. Watch it carefully.
Good luck,
Hunt
PS, if the hang happens AFTER the Splash Screen, and you are on XP with CS, you might just want to give the program a few seconds after the "hourglass" disappears. Watch it carefully, and you might see it come back very quickly two, or more times. I don't know what goes on here, as older versions of PS were "good to go," the instant that the hourglass turned into the cursor, but CS still has some things loading, regardless of what the cursor looks like. I usually get a sip of coffee here, so I don't impatiently try to Open, or something, as that can cause a hang.
