As I have said before, I think that it might have something to do with Americans inability to use a Knife and a Fork at the same time. And, of course, there is their desire to elect and re-elect the strangest of people to be their President.

They elected him?
In our house we refer to the present incumbent of the white house as "Bush the Unelected".

I think you answered your own question.

I'm assuming you are American living there. In which case, you will never learn the answer until you leave that country, travel and live outside it, and during which exercise an open, inquisitive mind. (You might even enjoy it!)
If history is any guide it's unlikely that anybody's explanations posted to Usenet will satisfy you, in which case actual research becomes necessary.

They probably think it because Americans are childish.

I too am "American" as in a US citizen and resident. I have travelled quite a bit and am less impressed by some of these "Continental Types" than they are. They are legends in their own minds.
US is preeminent in world power and that scares many. This is not unreasonable, Since my state of Massachusetts is represented by the likes of Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, and Barney Frank. We need to toughen up, tell the politically correct police to "grow up", and "enter the real world". After we get our own house in order, we should play real hard ball with those know-it-alls in Europe, like France and Germany who have beeen "has-beens" since I can remember. They are only envious. When did they last impact the world in a positive manner?

Oh yes, I admit it. I enjoy the grins to break up my work day!fish hooks.
Ok, so we are being caught by a Troll's bait.
But you must admit it is good for a laugh, and might even be more fun than only answering serious questions.
But, why are Americans so ----------- ?

Yeah, proud to be born somewhere...what an achievement!
You can be happy to be born here instead of in Sudan (that's in Africa, you know, that big island after a lot of water), but proud? My dog was born here also, just like you.

Hey dumbass,
That's not my quote, not that it doesn't apply. But the line above this one is.
