Syncing XMP and IPTC metadata

Is there a tool to either delete the XMP metadata or sync it with the IPTC metadata in a JPG or TIF?

Here's my problem. Added IPTC metadata to my Canon 10D CRW's in iMatch. Converted to TIF in C1 and edited in Photoshop CS creating JPG's. I then added some additional/different IPTC metadata to the JPG's back in iMatch. Now viewing the EXIF/IPTC data with ExifTool (http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/), which can output all the metadata in 'tag groups', I see that the entries in the XMP group reflect the IPTC values I added before I created the JPG in PS (they were copied to the JPG from the TIF). The IPTC group show the new values I updated with iMatch. So, I have two groups of metatdata which are out of sync.

Interestingly, if I open the JPG in PS then the File Info command shows the IPTC group in the info panels rather than the XMP group, so I see the new IPTC data I added in iMatch.

Any solution to getting the XMP group the same as the IPTC group, or deleting it all together?

Thanks,

Mark,

This is a User-to-User forum and not a User-to-Adobe Tech Support forum. You can only contact Tech Support via telephone.

You probably haven't had a reply because no-one here knows the answer.
