Photoshop 6.0 shapes tool problems...

When I use the shape tool to make a simple outlined elipse, it just makes a solid black shape. And when I switch the colors, it just makes a solid white elipse! I'm going mad trying to figure it out. Also, I have never had this problem before. Please help me!

The shape tools make solid shapes by default.

Or they can make paths, or pixel fills.

If you want an outline - pick a style for the shape that is just an outline.
