What’s the most direct way to modify/edit a smart objects\ in CS3? I know I can rasterize it, do my edits, and convert it back to smart object, but is there a more direct way? How about creating a group, adding the object to the group, and editing the group maybe?

MacBook Pro 16” Mockups 🔥

Hi,
Styles and masks can be added and transformations can be made without rasterizing. With nesting and groupings these things can be done repeatedly. They will be modified by the layers above (text, adjustment, etc.) and can be blended with the layers below without rasterization. Most importantly, Smart objects do not have to be bitmaps – they can be other supported formats that invoke other applications, for example, Adobe Camera Raw or Illustrator. I thought that with CS3 filters could be applied to a smart object but I only have cs2 so I do not know if this is true.
