I’m copying a lot of old color negs into digital form using my camera and a slide copy-attachment. Copying with a camera is fast and pretty good with slides. However the digital images of the negs also have the original neg color-mask. I’ve tried to remove the mask using Photoshop color correction tools (layer/new adjustment layer/photo filter/) but am dissatisfied with the results. I’ve tried a copy of Silverfast DCSE but it seems i really want the scanner version incorporating ‘Negafix". However, scanning takes way to long and i dont have one anyway which will do film. Anybody know of a good solution which will be quick or can do batch processing? Thnx

That’s a very good article! Although five years ago, using a camera as shown, may not have had a "professional" result, current cameras will produce something much better, especially if you can shoot in RAW format.

Now I’m going to have to see what I can set up to use with a Canon 20D to "scan" a bunch of Stereo Realist slides along with that big box of negatives!

Thanks for the reference, its a good article and the method works well – quite fast and if i follow up with ‘variations’ photoshop generally picks a good final adjustment result. Now I’ll have to read up to see if i can batch at least part of the process 🙂
thnx
