Photoshop intallation dissapears after "install shield" loads

Hello, I'm pretty new to this forum, and I have tried already to find someone with a previous thread about the problem I am having but without any success...

Here's my problem:

I have just downloaded a Photoshop CS tryout version from the adobe website. However, when I click setup.exe, the Photoshop logo appears, then a small box appears, saying: "initializing install shield" (or something very similar). Then, blue background window with "Photoshop CS and image ready installer" appears, and suddenly, NOTHING! The window simply dissapears...

I have no idea what the problem is, but I really would like to be able to try Photoshop out

Thank you all.

restart the system and try again?

Hmmmm... restarting the system doesn't seem to work either...

try restarting in safe mode. are you sure the install went ok?

Wow, thanks to you guys, it seems to work now... THANK YOU ALL

I actually would never have thought that installing in safe mode would actually make it work...

Bunch of thanks again, I'll probably be checking this forum frequently as I somehow forsee problems due to my computer ...

THANK YOU AGAIN

glad it's working farah. one word of caution. don't mess with your system clock at all while you're in your 30 day trial. if you do, the trial sw will lock you out (thinking you're trying to bypass the 30 day trial security) and the only way to get it to work again is to reformat.

good luck, happy photoshopping,
