Slow File Browser

I just started shooting RAW and when I process my photos I save them as TIFF, when I try to browse in file browser it takes FOREVER to load the image previews. Is there something I'm doing wrong? My scratch disk is different than the disc where I installed CS. I have a P4 3.2 MHz processor and 1Gb of RAM. Please help.

correct, the file browser is painfully slow !!
the only change is not to use it at all !

It's slower because it's doing more than the previous version. One thing you can do is turn off high quality previews in the File Browser preferences, if they're not important to you.
