I took some fireworks pics (thanks for the tips guys & gals). But now each pic is 14 mb in size!.
How do i reduce the size down to about 500kb for emailing? Thanks in advance.

Open one up in Photoshop.
Resize (Image > Image Size), being sure to check the boxes for Constrain Proportions and Resample Image (Bicubic or Bicubic Smoother (CS only). Change Resolution to 72
Change Pixel Dimension width to 700.
Click OK.

700 pixels wide should fit just fine on most monitors.

Resizing and resampling images often ends up with the new image being slightly blurry. Unsharp Mask will fix that right up. Go to Filter > Sharpen
Unsharp Mask and set amount to about 95%, radius to 0.3 pixels and
threshold 0 levels. Click OK.

Now go to File > Save For Web. Save as a JPG and slide the quality adjustor to suit your needs, viewing quality while keeping an eye on the changing file size at the bottom.

It’s now prepped and ready for e-mailing!

I want one!

I can send you the pic I am trying to reduce to a email, but I think the lowest size I can get it down to is 2 mb.
I just got the program for Christmas and i plan to get a good reference book soon.
Would you be willing to give it a try?

Sure send me a copy. I doubt my mail server will allow a 14 MB file, but the 2 MB should work.
