thumbnail icon in windows explorer

I'm not sure if this is a windows problem or a PS one. when you view a folder using windows explorer that contains psd files, and choose the view type as thumbnail, some pc's show the files as PS icons and others show a nice small picture of what the file is. all of the pc's I have looked at have PS CS and are running on Windows XP Pro with all patches applied.

is the veiw mode set to Thumbnail on all these Pc's, or are some thumbnail view, and others icon or tile view?

these are all set to thumbnail view, which is why it is puzzling.

if you're using ps cs, see this thread:

The one's you're seeing thumbnails on probably have an earlier version of Photoshop installed. Photoshop CS dropped that feature due to problems on many users' systems.
