Try Fade in Brushes/Shape Dynamics.

I was wondering if there’s any way to make lines that come to a point.
Maybe
like a 7 pixel line that tapers into a point. What I’d like to do is
create a
burst effect like in comics but do it with computer lines instead of using
my
paint brush (which is a bitch to do plus they don’t come out perfect).
Just
imagine taking a fine paint brush and making a quick line with it so the
end
comes out as a point.

There’s the line tool, but that line stays the same width from start to
finish.
Any other way to have that line taper into a point?

Thanks very much in advance.

In PS7 use the line tool. Select Arrowheads End. Set Weight to 7, the Width to 100% and change the length to as long or short as you want. To get to the Arrowheads Start/End Width and Length you need to have the Options window visible. You will see the pen tools shape tools line tool and the custom shape tool. Beside the custom shape tool there is an arrow pointing down. Click on the arrow to get additional options for each of the tools including the Arrowhead settings for the Line tool.
