Camera\Printer unable to read images after PS7 editing.

Here is the scenario.

I'm taking photos with a Canon digital using Compact Flash. I then insert the card into a card reader for transfer to computer. After downloading JPG images to my computer, I sharpen, etc and save them in JPG format using PS7.
I then load an image or two into a freshly formatted (in camera) card. I insert the CF card into the printer but no images are found. Likewise if I load it into the camera it says "unreadable format".

What am I doing wrong in PS7 that causes these images to become unreadable? I saving in the same format.....JPG.

Any advice?

It might help if you gave the model and brand of the camera, printer and how you are saving them in Photoshop 7 (Save For Web, Save As?????).

Your best bet is to simply connect the printer to the computer, install the drivers for it and print from Photoshop. The way you are going about it now is well crazy and a waste of time.

I know it seems a little round about. I would normally print from my computer to my Epson 890, but I wanted to take some edited photos on the road with me using a Compact Flash card, and then print (on the road) if needed.
The printer is a Epson PictureMate portable printer. Cameras are Canon S1 IS and 10D.

I am saving the files (edited in PS7, usually sharpened and/or color corrected) as JPEGs, using the same file name given by the camera, so I'm not sure why they are coming up as an unreadable format.

I've seen this before. It may have something to do with headers etc. that Photoshop adds. Try "Save for the web" instead of "Save as" and see if that works.
